When banks collapse – a lesson for ad land?

So, here’s something to think about. Something Gray and I were discussing last night.

If a few banks collapsing (ok, there’s more to it than that, but go with me)…

If a few banks collapsing can cause the global financial system to go into meltdown.

What would happen to the model that most of ad land works to if a few major TV networks were to go down?

What if NBC goes bust?

What if ITV goes bust in the UK?

All that inventory disappears, and suddenly TV advertising doesn’t exist?

might sound far-fetched I know.

But then, no one thought that banks could go bang overnight until a few weeks ago did they!

I guess we’d all have to barter and things would get even trickier
